Notes from Underground began spontaneously in 2015 as I began using public transport after a period of shielding. Travelling on the London Underground, London’s subway system, also known colloquially in the UK, as “The Tube,” is a feast for the senses if one looks up rather than into the depths of one’s phone. While the Underground is itself teaming with life, it also reflects historical events unfolding above ground. These rough and ready images are impressions; literally “Notes from Underground” - distinct from Dostoyevsky’s novel, but not entirely. This is an ongoing project. Watch this space.
